About Roseland Cottage
Built in 1846 in the Gothic Revival style, Roseland Cottage was the summer home of Lucy and Henry Bowen and their family. Known for its pink exterior, Roseland Cottage has an equally intriguing interior, featuring elaborate wall coverings, heavily patterned carpets, and stained glass, much of which survives unchanged from the Victorian era. Four U.S. presidents were entertained at Roseland Cottage. The estate includes a historic formal parterre garden, icehouse, aviary, barn, and the nation’s oldest surviving bowling alley.
